Bi-Annual Training Institutes

The HISTP holds week-long intensive training programs held at Columbia University twice a year (once in the summer, once in winter). These training Institutes are for both Fellows and their mentors. Institutes are designed to achieve three goals: (1) ensure that all mentees receive/possess a strong foundation of knowledge and experience in order to secure extramural funds to conduct rigorous D&I research with disproportionately affected target populations and the agencies that serve them; (2) provide collective mentorship to all mentees; and (3) strengthen the proposed training program in conjunction with “sister” programs funded by the same mechanisms.
